back to standard

Post by jex_the_bug »

hi,
my 60 series is a little more then broken. the front axle housing has cracked and is about to loss the wheel and steering knuckle. its not good.

the main problem i have is that its had a spring over so the axle housing has been cut about and changed (it cracked at one of these welds). its going to cost heaps to get a standard axle redone or the broken one welded up.

iv got a standard front end sitting there and was thinking i should just go back to standard hight. but what happens with the cert plate?

Throw up a photo of your problem...
There maybe some guys on here who can advise on a good fix...
I would suspect if its just cracked and hasn't moved then a re weld would be in order with a bit of reinforcement..
Probably need to remove the knuckle and drive shaft from that side and wipe out the oil..... Block off the tube on the inside to stop any crap getting into the diff and get into it with the grinder / welder?
