The hole you cut for the flexi hose, does it go through the inner guard bracing? i.e. the bracing channel?
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

Now ya see what I was talking about. Gives heaps of spare room for things like huge turbos and inline air filters
Easy to do.

What about a water to air i/c? same cooling ability if your standing still or doing 200k , from memory some of the older turbo subarus ran them , unless you have a way of really chilling the coolant you wont get super cold intake temps but the big plus is the temp will be absolutelty consistent at all speeds/rpm/throttle positions which has an advantaged when tuning fuel mixture

I'm not sure what you're asking ^^^^^
Up to you what you run. The air/water, air/air debate has been done to death. I have my opinion for cost and simplicity reasons, and that's all i will say in fear of sparking it up again
My fan cooled setup works ok for me :)

Cheers,

Hey just out of interest Simon, have you got intercooler fan on a thermal switch? or just manual on/off switch?

has anyone thought of putting an intercooler infront of the air intake so that air is always sucked past it? i.e, just infront of where the filter would be?

Manual switch feed from the run circuit so it turns off when the engine is switched off. I only use it when off road and when under load at low speed. When the fan has been on for a little while, you can feel the temperature difference from the intake side to the outlet side with your hand 8)

Sounds good in theory but your now heating the intake air up before it hits the turbo.
