Wanting to buy some Spotlights!

Post by KZN185 »

Hey guys, I am after sOme nice bright spotlights for the front of my hilux. I was looking at narva 175's but they are $300 a pair. Is that what I should expect to pay or does anyone have some better options? Cheers.

Hi, yeah spotlights are very expensive you can end up paying over $1000.00 for one light. What are you using it for, cause you can buy a whole range of lights for different things. (as you probably know) Your best bet is to try and find someone locally that can get a trade discount, you'll be surprised at what their discount can be, even places like Repco. What I've done in my Hilux, I've got a working light for my reverse light and for my front spotlights I've brought cheap units and replaced the bulbs, awesome for hunting and cheap as i always seem to be smashing them.

I saw those on trade me. Look good. I know you get what you pay for so may just invest in some good narvas, lightforce are way too expensive.

They will he for hunting and night driving attached to high beams.

If you're not after anything flash - give Sav a call at the 4X4 Centre in Nelson. He's got a couple of 2nd hand pairs in his "bargain bin"...

I got some Narva's with the blue glass a few years ago. Awesome light with the 24v truckstar globes but both have cracked glass now =(

just scored 3x narva ultima 225's with full loom for $250

http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails ... uctID=3995

not bad! they have good reviews and the covers are extremely strong.

mine are halogen, HID would be way more expensive! wanted something big to fill my bars.

I was planning on buying a few pairs of the smaller rectangle spot lights from super cheap, using a pair on the front bar and other two pairs on the roof. they're 55w from memory and light strength is at least 100m. Wanted them for hunting and night missions so that should work fine right? the whole package shouldn't cost more than $200.

i went with 4 spread beams..

I thought the maximum amount of driving lights was 4 apart from head lights?

for another hundred bucks you can throw a HID kit in them and make the old halogen bulbs look like dull little candles Image

I have 3x lights as well. Are those kits any good? Will need to fit a narva ultima 225. Spose I would have 1 spare.

yeah I've been pretty happy with them, they were only cheap chinese conversion kits I stuck into a couple of sets of 11" hella lights, so far they have been reliable and work well and are pretty cost effective for what you get but now its looking like $LED$ technologys starting to leave HIDs behind :x I used the 6000k light range which is at the end of the white spectrum before they start turning blue

Just thought ide butt in here, I managed to pickup a pair of Rallye 2000's for $170 off trademe. There are some pretty good deals out there if ya look around.

As for HID conversions I doubt you will get much cheaper than this @ $47.16 USD with free shipping to NZ. Currently thats about $58.66NZD

If anyone has any questions about this website ide be glad to help. Have bought close to 100 items off these guys and never had any issues. Just be prepaired to wait anywhere from 2-6 weeks for your item to turn up. (price you pay for free shipping and awesome prices I guess)
