Wheels and Tyres for 2002 Vitara

I’m Looking for a recommendation on tyre sizing.

My 2002, 3 door Vitara has the 16 inch factory biscuit wheels on it which need to come off.

I’ve been looking at wheels on trade me and the 15x7 with -15 offset seems to be what I’m leaning towards at the moment, does anyone see any issues with 235/75/15 ?

i had wrangler at/r's on my 2000 which seemed to suit it well, from memory i could only go up one tyre size ... (clearence issues)

Be careful with the 15x7 rims, they dont usually fit over the calipers. Easiest option is to look for some larger 16" tyres. Usually you will need a lift of some kind to fit the bigger wheels.

I have on mine some 16" rims with 225/75/16 muds. Mine is the old shape Vitara, tyres measure out to 29.5" approx. Go alright.

I put 245/75/16 on standard rims (30.5" diameter). Went well, no body lift, had to trim plastic, bend the guard inners a little and space the bumpstops (due to the lack of body lift).
Steering stays good as the scrub radius doesn't change and got a warrant no problems.

i just got some 15x7 with a zero offset put 31x10.5 on and they fit nice the dont hang out to far and ive got about 5mm spare on full lock before they hit the chasis still have to do a little mod on the guards but should be fine i only have a 50mm body lift and 35mm suspension lift
