i'm blaming hillfillys directions to the supermarket just round the corner

Is that what took so long? Could ye not find it? Is literally one intersection away like  :P

Speaking of which:

There is a New World in Rolleston if people would like to shop there before the 9am departure.

Alternatively there is a Pak n' Save and Countdown in Hornby if you are coming that way.

Cindy, Simon and I found New World Jerry..... it was just down the road .....don't know what happened to you. I do admit to having trouble finding Jason's place when we came home

Purchasing hut tickets and passes
The Backcountry Hut Pass, Backcountry Hut Tickets, Great Walk Tickets, and serviced alpine hut fees can be ordered by phone, fax, email, post or in person from DOC Visitor Centres nationwide. Hut tickets are also sold by some other retail outlets.

Check their website. Think you have to rock into a DOC office. The lady I spoke to on the phone a while back said not to stress if you don't get one in time, just buy it afterwards.

No suggested donation. Just give whatever you deem worthy and can afford for what is such a wicked hut maintained to an incredible standard :D

Been chattin to a couple of other glacier goers and was thinkin, how would ya's feel about the godley hut hangi thingy being Friday night rather than sat? Goin by history, the trip around to glacier and back on the sat will be later than arrival on the Friday would be.

Thoughts?

I think maybe its a 3 -4 hour exercise in those stacked steam cooker jobbies unless the altitude effects the pressure boil point inside them. ???

Batty's on to it however so fear not. He won't let us down, will ya batty??

Its all on you mate. No 'pressure' Batty.

OK its official. I'm starting to get revved for this. Looking forward to hitting the road on Wednesday night with maybe a bit of sleep on the ferry.
