You don't want disc breaks, you'd be better with disc brakes. especially when you go to search the forum

Re: Making Hilux Rear To Disc Brakes??
dunno much about the hilux stuff if they have a carden or rear drum handbrake but if your after rear callipers with a handbrake MR2 and subaru leone callipers are the common ones to use, pretty sure theres problems getting the MR2 callipers to fit around the leafsprings or something like that on some models so probably best you do a bit of research in the forum archives and the leone callipers are getting a bit older and harder to find these days, I just happen to have 5-6 sets
but before you ask nah they arent for sale 2 sets are on my trucks and the rest are spares
dunno which model MR2 callipers they use but the suby ones are 1985 leone front callipers (they have the handbrake on the front brakes), whatever callipers you end up using you need to make sure you get full pad contact on the rotor if theres anything hanging over you can end up with the two pads eventually touching once they wear down far enough and lose your brakes and end up smacking into a big bank at gwavas at high speed in the dark aye beercruiser
and as far as rotors go you use front rotors for the rear

Re: Making Hilux Rear To Disc Brakes??
I've done the conversion using solid front rotors machined to fit the rear hub, and got brackets to mount maxima rear calipers.
there are a few options using either galant, MR2 or maxima calipers,
And either solid or ented rotors.
here are a few links, search the forum or the net for more info, it is easily found.

or have a read through Tims thread and you'll see it all done.
