diff question

Post by mfrsr »

if you turn a diff over - left wheel to right side, right wheel to left side, does it drive backwards?

Now this made my brain hurt this time of the morning....
After thinking about it over a coffee and playing with my coffee spoon.....
I say Yes......as long as the input rotation stays the same...

Yep, as kbushnz said, it will run backwards if the input rotation stays the same

My scientific wooden calculater says that the wheels will rotate in reverse if you swing the diff over it also said that the only way of doing a oil change was when the shinny side was down mind you it will also be a good time to do any brake work as they will be around eye height
Right oh back to work as i need another coffee
