WTD: Front and or Rear lokka, air locker?

Post by hachi_roku »

Hey,

I have a 93' SWB 2.8td Pajero that ive done the usuall mods too,

2.5" exhaust from the turbo back
2" body lift
2" suspension lift with new shocks ( 50mm longer )
15x10's -44 with 33x12.5R15's XMT all around

While i am happy with the way it performs, i would love a little more flex and alot more traction.

It has the factory rear lsd, and it is ok but just not doin it for me.

So i am looking at getting a front/rear locker.. there doesnt seem to be many options for these.

Any ideas, prices would be great.

Cheers

Remove the rear sway bar to increase articulation if you havn't already. I'd recommend the factory air locker for the rear, but fit all the factory kit inc the control brain. Mines been faultless even with 35" jungle trekkers. 'Lokka' do one for the front. $510 Aussie inc delivery which works to about $740 nz with GST etc. - Tom Hewitson [mailto:tom@4wdsystems.com.au] Very nice people to deal with too. One word of caution though, the front lokker will transform your grip levels and banish articulation traps but it will do some pretty wierd things to the steering. Hard to explain but it feels like the power steering is not working when going straight and needing to make minor steering adjustments. Good for your upper body strength though if you drive often! Hope this is helpful, Cheers Andy.

Hi. I've just put front and rear air lockers in my truck, and I can tell you there is only one ARB locker for the front of any mitsi thats the RD110. It will only fit into the 8" front diff however. I have a series one truck so had.to get a V6 front diff, you will need to check yours out and find which diff you have. Not sure if the lokka or lockright type fronts also need the bigger front diff

What ever type of locker you do eventually go for you will love the traction!!
IFS all the way...go the mark 1 Pajero!
