I'm thinking of getting to SMASH PALACE around 8pm. Will give me time sort my stuff tomo.
On another note DDan has texted me and said his mate who has had a look, reckons we should be taking Jet Boats... Anyone got access to water flow data and an idea of what level it gets interesting at?
Rivers in there will be fine, this easterly rain wont be getting further west than burkes pass, they are only feed from the western ranges. Even the southlery doesnt effect much this time of year as it is frozen, different in the spring. Picking it will be frosty for next couple of days. Bugger all snow. Have fun..

On that note. I'm defiantly not going on this trip this year. Blow main seals front and rear. Not to mention HEAPS of crank case pressure (reason the seals went one would think). It gets a leak down test this time tomorrow.
But hey!! There's always next year.
Have a good time fellas!! Don't forget to take heaps of pix.

Dont make me come up there and hurt you..........
I'll most likely meet all those heading to the hut, up at the yard where those who need to leave tow vehicles/trailers etcs........
Hey Guys, or anyone still checking this forum. You are in for a treat, the McCauley hut is surrounded by about a foot ot so of snow, an easy drive up if you follow my tracks or drop your tyre pressures.
I've spent the last few days in the hut exploring on foot, bath operational and well worth a go, though not the most efficient use of fire wood, still plenty in the wood shed though.
I'm heading out now to godly where apparently there is no snow (chatted to mountain radio this morning)
Have laid a fresh fire, might see you tonight if we decide we don't want to freeze our arses off in the godly hut.
