96 Escudo Air conditioning

Post by leyton »

Hello

Has anyone had any experience in diagnosing a fault with an Escudo where the air conditioning solenoid does not click in to engage the clutch, nor does the condenser fan start, or the engine change in rpm.

I have checked all fuse's with no joy

I suspect there is a controller for the aircon in the form of a computer

Does anyone know where this computer is so I can beat it with a stick ?

Oh, more info. LWB, G16A engine :)

Cheers

if low on gas this can stop it from working. doubt there will be a computer prob just sensors.

low gas?
faulty button?

have a look at following link :
http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1g/bl423g.htm

your ac should have a round tube thingy like this with a pressure sensor on the top. pull plug and link wires with wire, turn on ac button and if works low gas pressure
Current 4wd: Surf Kzn185 ssrg factory Intercooled (yet to start build)
Past 4wd: toyota surf ln130, coil sas, 1uz v8 build

Fantastic!!! :) I did not know they had low pressure sensors ! :) This is what it will be for sure! as the light does turn on for the AC Switch itself :)

Low gas, and or leak :)

both the a/c button and the a/c computer (behind the glove box) do give issues
