Where are you ? what ratio ? I have a 4.3 but not sure what year it out of , expect an early one .

auckland not sure about the ratio i think it may be 4.6 as it has hg46 on the plate in the engine bay .

Yep, you're onto it. V6 and diesel have different front diffs too. And check where cvs bolt to diff flange, could be either 5x1 pattern, or a 3x2 pattern. Early ones usually the 3x2, from 93- there seems to be a mix.
I've got a 3x2 diesel (r180a) in 4.6 ratio, but I'm thinking shipping would cost more that picking one up locally from trademe etc
