Multimeter claims around 1.4A being drained with everything off and key out. Typical is around 30mA!

...And after the first few tests it looks like I have a faulty diode. I removed charge lead connector (hope thats the very bottom wire and not the plastic plug) and the light went out.
So whats the option from here?? Please not a new alternator....

EDIT: I tried pulling fuses 1st, even with all of them out it still reads 1.4A being drained
