A few random thoughts - in no particular order:

Cheers everybody. What a good bunch of people. What a great community. If you were not there you really did miss a beauty trip.

Thanks for welcoming us Jaffas down there to share that special bit of God's Own. I know, I know, our presence did raise the average IQ of the South Island while we were down there but I do think we got plenty of laughs in return and for that I thank you all.

Now back home in Auckland reflecting on 'The Week that Was' a few special moments stand out that I feel compelled to report on.

1. The efforts of Sausage Fest Boys (SFB) in the camper provided constant amusement although I'll never be able to look at a sausage in quite the same way again. Its Ok guys....what goes on tour stays on.......etc. Your reps are safe with us have no fear. After all, its common knowledge that there's 3 or 4 in every 16 random people and God alone knows we were a pretty random lot. Also it does explain the copious quantities of lube you had on hand. Keep it up.

Score:

Manbadge Merit: 3/10
Steadfast in Denial on sexual orientation: 7/10
Providing a constant target for Jerry's snowballs: 8/10

Average Score: 6/10 (Well done I guess. A better score only let down due to poor hot dog Take-Aways service and lack of Health certificate in kitchen.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. The Bonfire revelations of Batty and the 'Glove of Love' on Sunday night deep in the Hopkins is permanently etched in my mind. OMG! I feel this will become a famous retelling on future ORE fireside discussions. Despite this dubious start he and Zara's double efforts in the 'Feed The World' campaign up the MaCauley and Hopkins have largely redeemed him.

Degree of difficulty: 8/10
Love Glove Artistic Merit: 9/10
Average Score: 8.5/10
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Report card on Gerry, the relentless Snow-baller from Hell and wearer of the possum fur nipple warmers. Camp Mother's Comment: "Does not play well with others and appears to have developed a few dubious habits. Must try harder." Top effort on photography and everybody's mate so should score well.

General Behaviour: 2/10
Accuracy with snow balls: 10/10
Shameless Factor with nipple warmers: 15/10
Average score: 9/10
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. Fast Freddy the Firewood Forager: Top marks for effort but lost points by being last in to camp each night and with his glutinous exploits with an oversized plate at meal times. Remarkable persistence however in breaking new trails and extreme wheeling in his little pocket rocket gets extra marks. A reasonable result overall: only let down by faking a bad back and begging a massage. Lucky for him Zara offered to help before the SFB Boys got their hands on him.

Community spirit: 10/10
Persistence in the face of wheeling adversity: 8/10
Getting himself into compromising positions in front of the lads: 2/10

Average Score: 6.6/10
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stanley: Pretty much everybody's mate, ready to have fun with anybody, at any time so long as there is also food involved - even from the SFB. Good forward thinking with begging a feed and stashing pizzas...you just never know. Hard to fault really. A good overall performance.

Pizza stashing for 'End of the World' insurance. 10/10
Making his boss look like a good shot by running down wild Hares 10/10
Eating the SFB evidence: 10/10

Average Score: 10/10.

Guess this means the trip goes to the dogs.. . Well done Stan.

Last word from Stanley- ' WOOF'. (got any food?)

Finally made if back home last night after what was another farkin primo trip this year. Cheers to everyone for being all round good bastards, even that dodgy love glove association vice president

Was great to meet a few new faces and catch up with some old ones and it's good to read that everyone enjoyed themselves. It's the people that make the trip so thanks again to everyone for the good times.

Awesome writeup Billy  10/10

There are going to be a few changes to the trip next year (including the option of staying on for longer and doing some more tracks) so drop us a line if you have any ideas or requests.
