Pajero Compass

Post by Mae-7 »

Does anyone know what's wrong with my Compass?
It just sits there blinking up and down with n-w-e and then if I push the S button it starts this scanning looking thing.
I've tried driving around in circles to set it while it does this:

But nothing. Not sure if I need a new Compass sensor or what?
Does anyone have an idea on what it's doing and what needs to be done?

Cheers

I know with the one on our Challenger did the same thing and I just pushed and held the button for a while then it hunts and slows down then eventually works. The truck was stationary when I did this.

Mind did that and to fix it I pushed the button fully in an at the same time did a 360 degree turn clock wise, trick was to make sure you did the full 360 turn. Cheers.

Push the set button once then drive in a circle clockwise direction and then drive in a anticlockwise direction circle.
It doesnt matter which direction you do first.
I have found it resets it self some wherein that process. but I have had to do it twice once to get it behave.

I tried that today. Didn't work either
I'm thinking it's either the compass sensor or some of the capacitors have been damaged.
