Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
for a newbie you have done really well. on too it. truck building means means continuous expenditure. lockers imo selectable only in the front. I have auto in back. ARB selectable be the best but are moon beans. lock right in back and see how you get on for a while. seat time learn. front lockers can get you in trouble easily.

Cardwell Racing Supplies in Auckland. Costs a arm and a leg but works a treat.

for anyone interested in the above, a bender with stop and degree wheel as well as 1.5" die set and 2" die set are looking at $2130. I'm currently trying to find cheaper

1990 surf 350 chevy jacked up and currently under construction again
Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
This is sweet, gd stuff.
Is the gearbox cable or hydraulic? I've seen photos of 4a conversions, also had a geeze at a 3.8 v6 but either cable clutch or auto. Im just having trouble trying to picture how fit a clutch cyl to the firewall and clear the 4a inlet manifold... the best idea I have so far is a homemade clutch only pedalbox

Using stock clutch cable
Ha ha not so good with paint

Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Brilliant
so your running somethin like a t50 outta an AE86 or similar and youve built a piviot on the bellhousing so the cable moves the slave? from what i can see from the diagram. Man I never even thought of that. Think I will still run with the reverse mount master... how hard can building a pedal box be? am missing a few small bits for the 4a conv but by the time you balance purchasing those verse a g16 from scratch it becomes cost effictive (my box crunches already) unless I spy a damaged gti? swift for a good dollar. Thanks for the reply

Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
hey guys going hydraulic isnt too hard... st151 corona master with vl commy hose slightly modified using stock t50 slave. the alloy is there to take up some of the shoulder of the master as the firewall is thin and help spread the load.

Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Any tips on painting galvanised bull bars. painted mine with etch primer then with black 600 series, still pealing off????
Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
You cannot beat hot dipped galv, thievin buggers charge by the kilo gettin done, an most of what ive seen dipped pulls under the heat, but... it does wk
$3 somethin per kilo of steel I think

Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
galv is hard as shit to keep paint too, i dunno if painting straight on it with por15 will be any better. powder coatings the way to go but a bit late for that now
Re: Suzuki+4age+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Sorry, I have read the whole thing a few times, 4got hot diped is what you had done on the bumper to start with.... I have no idea other than colour code to suit the galv
