WTB: Silverstones 35"

Post by Hilux Dan »

Hi people......im trying to track down some NEW Silverstone 35x11.5x15's.

Im specifically after the pre Feb 2012 tyres as this is when they started manufacturing them from the new larger molds (hence a more true 35"). Unfortunately there is no way I will fit the more true to size tyres, hence im after the smaller size 35's. Does anyone have any of these ?? or can anyone point me in the right direction ?? I have found 2 at the moment, but obviously need 4.

I hope this makes sense..........

Cheers

where you from dude ??

we got 4 at work that are 34.6"

I have been in long heated discussions over the last few days with the NZ distributor over the sizing and nobody seems to know about the new moulds and the new sizing

they told me the new sizing was 883mm (34.75")
and the old sizing was 840mm (33")

so I told them to email the factory for confirmation on the correct sizing

I too have been informed from the previous NZ distributor that the new mould was in production from feb this year

during one of my phone calls this week to the distributor they went to their warehouse and measured the stock they had which they believe is from the new moulds and they measured at 883mm so I believe they have a warehouse full of old sizes, even if they seem to have no idea themselves

and the ones we have at work are date stamped 3111 so were made well before feb this year

funny thing is when they measured the tyres they had for me, they conveniently forgot to check the date stamps for me

so what I'm saying is that I believe they have heaps of the old stock in their warehouse

That very interesting as I can only see them sitting for ages due to guys wanting post Feb ones or they make them cheap.. and i mean real cheap.. to move them.. As im on the hunt for some and do want post Feb and not pre Feb, time can only tell if they will deliver...

JUst measured my new silverstones, and found date stamped
4111 883o/d
4211 883 o/d
4211 893 o/d
1612 893 o/d
all the same pressure on 8 inch rim
my old size was 860 o/d

The 2 I have found so far mesure approx 860mm not fitted to a rim.....anyone else have these measurements ?? They seem to be all over the place and the last thing I want is mismatching tyres.....

Dan, PM me if you are still after the tyres, have 5 on beadlocks, 1 never ever used, and the other 4 have done a total of 3 Hrs! I'm after the new mould size, so if you wanted to buy the new ones, we could do swapsies?
Tyres are in Auckland, either at Jonno's place or my store (I think they are off the truck at the mo)(It's been so long since I saw it I'm not sure)
