Sounds to me like they are looking at something like our cert system to be honest from what I read there? essentially says that vehicles will be tested if modified from how they were first registered.

A pain in the arse and it depends how anal they decide to be I guess but I think it is a pain in the arse having to have a lift certed even though technically it is for the safety of other road users.

Well exactly..some of it is a pain in the butt.. but I guess I can see where they come from esp. with the amount of non-standard manufactured rubbish you can get hold off. Like under our old system at least on my old safari, I could drive it around with a 2.5" lift no castor correction or anything, and it was 'legal', but if i wanted to fit adjustable or h/d shortened panhards, or change the castor, in order to return it to as near as possible to standard steering geometry it would need a cert. So it was like saying its safe to drive around with a bit of castor wobble, and diffs sitting 30mm off-center, but will need a further $400 safety check if you want to correct it

wont hurt. you can slam a big block in a morrie and just roll up for a wof as normal.

tbh they're slowly writing rules that'll kill modification bit by bit here. only a matter of time.
