South Eyre river, 1st September, Fundraiser for Kaiapoi Fire

Post by turoa »

Hi all,

Sorry for the late notice but on the 1st september we're running a fundraiser 4wd trip up the south eyre river.

Proceeds are to go to the kaiapoi volunteer fire service!! Incl in the day is a sausage sizzle for lunch. The cost is a $15 donation however you are welcome to donate more if you wish

Lately the river has been in flood and normally it is an easy trip however it is a bit soft now so should be a bit of fun. We are going to go as far up as practical and return to the start to cater for trailer queens

If Its too simple we can always hop over to the top end of the waimak for a play.

Meeting at the ford on two chain road and will post a map closer to the time.

Would be brilliant if you could post up here or txt 021431847 so I can get an idea of numbers.

Cheers

Hi I am interested if it's ok? I'm not a member of a 4wd club yet and am new. But wanting to meet others of this site I'm happy to pay the donation and help bring some food and cook if you like? I'm new to 4wd so would this trip be ok for a newbie?

What sort of truck requirements are there for this trip? snorkel etc?

Hey guys, Would be brilliant if I could get final numbers before tommorow so I can order some saus and things, Ill account for whoever has posted so far unless they say otherwise 8) however still feel free to come along if you make a last minute decision, just bring some extra meat

Also heres a map... The easiest way to get there is to hoon up tram road until you get to two chain road, then head down there until you reach a ford  Its 13.6km down tram road from the motorway

Sorry wont make it, I have Kooties or girl germs - caught the bot off my wife last thurs and it really hammered me last few days - not to be confused with manflu which apparently is minor.
