Plates are still live (although just run out - I'll probably put them on hold this week, although they should be safe for another 10-11 months), so it can be rebuilt and certified.

http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=ne3404

Tons of bits for sale with it... only half of which is in the photos. If anyone is interested in having a look let me know, or ask any questions here or (preferably) on TM.

Cheers

Yeah I know what you mean, but we've had some unfortunate circumstances in our family and we've taken in my Sisters two wee girls which triples the kid-count in the house... so time is getting more and more scarce all the time. I've had to clean out my office and turn it into a bedroom - and the truck got ejected from the garage to give us more storage space... so along with a lack of time I'm also having to contend with a lack of space. Add to that I'm about to start a 9-5 dilbert-style daytime cubicle life shortly and I just can't see me getting it back together anytime soon... Although part of me still wants to :)

Scrapped?! Never... this truck will outlast us all :) And yeah, it would be good to catch up and have a coffee sometime soon...

I might have done a lot of things Mr SupraSurf has done... but pulling on lycra undies and peddling fast up hills is never going to be one of them

What I have just done is swapped the Holden for a... wait for it... disco

Maybe we should all meet tomorrow at the bottom of Worsleys with our weapons of choice.. first to the top wins??

I have suspicions I'll be the only one there (Big night on the tools Steve if you're gonna make it)

Well well Micheal. All it took to wake you up was some abuse

After Tom,s comment I am thinking maybe we need to ditch Mr Holland, and take up another geographical refferance, Mr Asia maybe

Catch up with ya sometime soon fella.

Steve, can you do us a favour and rename this thread "old time catch up" please? Then we won't be thread jacking  :P :P :P

I don't think the Disco will be up to it... even after a big night on the tools... One day maybe, but for now its able to get through the carpark behind Kidds Cakes on Cranford St... Anything else might be a stretch.

niblik wrote:I'd be keen for a jaunt another day Steve. You must've seen the light. Discos are a lot better than mu's... :P

I have to say the ride is somewhat better than I remember my old series IIA had... and yeah, one day... but for now its a Fendalton Tractor and until I start working full time again, make a few $$$ and sort a few other things its stuck in that role. Gill was the one who convinced me to do it... She wants to go family 4WDing and do some picnics up the river and stuff. She does NOT want to go rock-crawling or mud-bogging and spend all day moving 73 metres from go to whoah

Yep, the gangs all here (Mostly...) :) I'll add something to that effect...

Maybe I should start a build thread for the Disco... it won't matter if it takes 5 years to build it since thats about the average for me anyway

Not just you dude, that seems to be the go nearly everyone here (maybe with the exception of Pete). And if you have a build on anything other than a Toymota (cause I just don't look at those threads as they make me feel quezzy)

You do realise the Disco build will include high-tech like 1" coil spacers and 31" all-terrain tyres... and maybe a CD player?.. Anything more and I will get shot by the boss

Anyway... anyone want a Hilux project? Lots of watchers, and one guy hoping the 2JZ I mentioned was a twin-turbo with a 6-speed manual on the back... but nothing much else in the way of interest from people.

But maybe the mutt is already fininshed, and I am saying nothing .......

Trucks and diggers etc take a major precedance over toys at the moment, which is a shame as 30 hours or so would see the Mutt fully built (just some wiring and pissing about with the winch is all that is needed), but time is money and a 4wd only swallows cash, it does'nt deliver it.

Which Kev, as I'm feeling bloody old too

Definitley keen on an 'ORE Old Bastards Reunion'. The expression: "quiet drive up a scenic river" still reverberates!

Significant debt of gratitude to Mike, Grunter, Steve, Nige, Gareth, Tom, Tim, Al, Kev, Pete, and all 'ORE Good Old Bastards" - those were the days. 8)

Holy crap, where did all these old timers come from? And where is Rik? He's an old fart now too...

Maybe a quiet family bbq old-farts reunion cruise up the Waipara or something would be on the cards now its getting warmer? Or in the intervening years since I was frequenting the forums has river access been lost to us?

And as to value Rok, I haven't a clue. I was hoping for around $2k for it all (and there is a lot of stuff there), but I'm open to sensible offers (I'd PM it to ya, but its not a secret :) )

The TM auction has a 1k start=reserve, so it could go for that. For 2k I'll probably throw in just about everything Hilux in the garage including the TG high-steer arms and pitman arm I got for it but never unwrapped.

Sweet. Disco has full-time 4WD and no center difflock (although apparently its there, just needs a cable to activate it). Waipara river sounds perfect. Family trip? BBQ lunch etc? Mr Holland has a Jeep so he has no excuse. Rik will have to use the wifes playdoh since last time I saw the Hilux it was in nearly as many pieces as mine. Kev, what are you driving these days? Bill has a 'Cruiser I believe... Smokey, you still driving that red box? Tom should be able to build something specially given a days notice, Nibby and I have Discos so we'll be sweet and Tim - do you still have the Hilux?... And Rok can bring the digger to pull all our soft-roaders out
