Given the truck a quick hose down to remove Woodhill sand/mud.
Looking at places to fit my hand throttle (ex Kenworth) So now I can call it a truck
Picked up radiator for water / air intercooler.

Re: 25 - 26 August 2012
finished front barwork on surf. **** there's a lot of mistakes in this
have decided i'll let a real engineer do the sidebars. me and the pipe bender didn't get on well.
And got my spacer rings for the duals. may need some more machining, don't know if i can make it fit yet. 10mm steel is probably a little excessive, but not many choices for pipe that's 400mm diameter, got mine from a well driller.

Re: 25 - 26 August 2012
Aaaaalmost finished the lower mounts for the Lada today.
I went with a mate to his work yesterday to grab some box section (to beef up the standard bar mounts) out of the scrap bin, but there was none in the bins outside
So he'll grab me some this coming week.
So I'll have a nice strong rear bar all for free.
The joys of having a mate who is a truck fabricator

Nice pix Coxsy , Enjoy the trip mate.
Went to Woodhill today, Blew a small heater hose on the back of
the TB42 .. Replaced it with a spare..
note to self : Carry random size hoses and spare hose clips .!
Should Really replace all the heater hoses behind / under inlet manifold.
Bunnings flares held up ok, even after being bashed about abit .
Few recoverys here and there, but a good fun day .
Was an eye opener to see how some tracks have been washed away

Syncro keys I think, went for a drive and couldn't notice anything wrong with the gearbox

Went out to The Farm today with a mate with his Nissan Safari with an LS1 testing our trucks out before Manukau winch challenge. We tried out our new rear mounted radiator and twin alternator set up and Kelvin in his Safari tried out his new 35" Silverstone's getting some seat time before he is competing in his first event in Manukau class.
Was a great day out, only got a couple of videos from some bog holes there, and our truck is running allot cooler now.

Went to change rear bushes on kzj78, but the rear UJ was the main cause of slop and noise. Then attacked my warn winch which is not working...... silt and water will do that
Time for a rebuild. Any tips of rebuilding the warn m8000?

Did heaps this weekend, took some guys to Rallywoods, broke a couple of trucks. Went to Ripco and got some parts for 202, plugs, points, dizzy cap, rotor and coil, fitted them to the landy 202 and started it... sweet Redrocks at 10.30pm saturday nite. drove for about 300 meters and it died, flooding the carb, need a rebuild kit.
Tightened wheel bearings in a 80 for Will Ferris, no shaking in the stearing now... helped Skiddy sort out his alternators... still not 100% but its charging for now.

Fit the new kiwi made fuel pump by fuel flow.
Tinted the windows.
Today headed up the Murawia with two other trucks. Was an eventfull day, 2 flat tyres, broken windscreen. colapsed cv joint. front bumper fell off on the way out.
and non of this was the lada.
I had continuis weber problems, kept stalling and loosing power so tried the mexican carb rebuild, didnt help.
Took the top off the carb found heaps of crap in the bowl so cleaned it all out and blew out all the jets, still kept stalling out after giving it heaps but then would come right after a couple seconds
Eventually figured out the fuel filter was the culprit, noticing the pump would get louder evertime it happend due to being starved of fuel suply, found the filter was soft and squishy from the engine bay heat. by passed that and never missed a beat after at the end of the day.
will buy a steel filter this week
after thought: must have been the fuel filter that killed the last pump too.
wicked day out nun the less.

Started sliders for the mitsi.

Finished the logsplitter minus a motor which is being overhauled

Then jackknifed it into the back and dented it. the mitsi not the splitter.
Pulled the egr blank off out of the mitsi as throwing CEL's and pulled out the chip so I can take to dealer to reset the CEL.

Went to rallys at like 3.30 (brought FOOD this time) only to find Reece and the crew heading straight out with broken trucks/quads. So bangers are in the freezer for another weekend, managed to drink the beer too

Shot out to Hukerenui yesterday to help with track clearing. Only got a 1km or so in and errosion had meant we couldnt go any further. There are a few more tracks that need to be cleared so will need to tackle them at some stage. Was the first proper outing on the Silverstones and they are awesome
Just idle through everything no need to push it at all.
