Pain in the butt as when she's cold a bit of up idle works a treat and also charging batteries... Pain having to sit there with a foot on the gas pedal...
I started looking at hand throttles. And Slee off road in the states used to sell factory Toyota ones... but alas not stocked....
So started trolling Trademe and Ebay...
Looked at locking chokes etc etc
Even hassled a few ORE members (sorry Mudluva for not getting back to you re your factory one)
Then stumbled across a Kenworth truck one..

It can be turned out and in to change idle and push button to set it back in home. Has a friction lock. And the price was right...
So set about fitting it.
Had to make a new bracket to fit it and also move over the bonnet release handle (needed to get hand throttle inline with accelerator pedal).
This is when I found the gas flap handle was broken....(fixed now).
Then it was a matter of cutting down the guide sleeve for the hand throttle and the inner wire.
I welded a small tube to the top of the accelerator arm with which the wire goes thru.

It has a small clamp on the end of the wire.
The idea is normal operation sees the tube slide over the wire.

And when idle up is used you turn the knob and it pulls up on the throttle. Similar to the factory approach.

It works a treat.....
