What do you guys suggest buying, any model better than others, whats the opinions out there ?

Was looking at something like this ??

i use to have one of these

quite similar to the link you put up i just use a hand held now

Would I be better of with a handheld unit ??

Have the above GME but needs external speaker if youre out & about & mates on handhelds IMHO

wait for the next repco sale and get one of the oricom ones for 249
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

i use handheld for hunting as well so it saved me buying 2 separate radios handhelds are always handy when guiding other trucks through hard bits of track

That is a pretty sharp price, I have sold a couple of these at the garage lately and people like them - ridiculously small :) Happy to help out ORE folk with product but also check out Jerry here as a vendor in this area - http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/content/nzprs

Only thing with some handhelds is they need to be charged from a charging base, so if they go flat you can't just chuck another set of AA batteries in them.
