1kz temp and oil pressure senders info

Hi guys ,someone out there will know. are 1kz prado oil pressure and water temp senders specific to 1kz /prado or will other ones work .Am in the process of putting an LS1 into my prado but want to utilize existing gauges.Would be nice if any toyota one worked then pickapart i would go cheers sig

the oil pressure sender is a 1/8 BSP T thread so should just go into your new block . Not sure what thread the water temp is .

However the Water Temp gauge has a massive flat spot engineered into it so the needle doesn't float with normal use .
This means that you have not indication of overheating untill its to late and the gauge suddenly jumps into the red .

both the Oil Pressure and temp gauges are also very vague , ie no temp or pressure scale , just lines on the gauge . also the oil pressure gauge is not accurate at low pressures ie while idling .

I personally would never trust the factory guages and would fit aftermarket ones instead .

will be fitting aftermarket as well just want the original gauges to do something

There is a writeup on toyotasurf forum aus on how to get rid of the flat spot on water gauge. Bout to do myself as it looks funny having it sit on cold and a/m gauge at temp

hey I've still got one of those gauge pods we stuck on my dash if you want one to stick your aftermarket gauges in, was pretty tight with 2 5/8 guages but would fit 2" gauges fine
