When was the last time the fluid was changed? Could be boiling if it has a lot of moisture in there..

Re: Loosing breaks
I'd say you need some Brake fluid, break fluid is not very effective, in fact I don't think you can buy it any more.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods

Seeing as no-one else has been helpful, I spent a bit of time looking for a potential solution, check this out.http://www.auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=31475&hilit=brake+issue

you need to provide some more info about whats happening to get some reasonable answers mate, is the pedal dropping to the floor or are you just losing clamping ability on the callipers/drums, is it only an intermittant problem, what sort of vehicle and are the brakes disc, drum or a mixture, booster or no booster, are you losing brake fluid, have you checked you've got vaccum

Think you could be on the mark here as I remember it only started when I lift it, as pulled off the link...
You lot think too much!
Too much lock + lifted vit = caliper hits spring and knocks the piston back a bit so you have to pump it back in place
Adjust your steering stops a bit so it doesnt hit, or just left foot pump the pedal as you roll into tight spots like I do
