It doesn't seem as big a problem as it used to be Heath, ever since that guy got caught in the act and stabbed to death by the home owner it's died of a bit. Got a couple of mates in Manurewa and there's hardly a tag to be seen there these days (on private property anyway)
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
Anyone know what will take dazzle paint off? water blaster wont touch it.
Neighbour suggested a citrus based cleaner as it worked on his place but he couldnt remember the name (old container filled from somewhere).

Re: What the F##k Christchurch
Don't know if it'll help ya but we use meths or turps to take off paint pen on car parts from scrappies.
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
Unpainted wooden pine fence. So I'm picking any thinners will make it wick into the wood and it will be permanent.
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
once its nice and dry give it a good sand with an orbital sander or the likes, like you said thinners may stain it, it does wear off eventually, if its the same marker paint we use on logs in the bush it eventually fades off, but sanding is your best bet
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
does your council offer a graffiti removal service? usually they just spray some stuff on
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
if its acrylic look for a product called simple green, its what i use to strip paint off models, may work may not.
Re: What the F##k Christchurch
Or contact Mainland Paints on Selwyn street, they know their stuff and can recommend stuff to deal with the tagging AND products that will seal against further tagging - that will make it easier to remove if it happens again.

Re: What the F##k Christchurch
couple of years ago i remember reading about how a guy wired up a portable electric fence(which runs of a car battery) to his seat, he stitched up wire through the seat cover. that could be an interesting idea...although there is a risk of fire
ive heard of alarms that when you drive away or come to a stop you have to press a hidden button, otherwise the car cuts out in a minute, this is good for those times when you get carjacked, let the guys have the car, then walk 1km down the road and pick it up again after it stops.
if you find the criminals, buy them a one way ticket to Papua new guinea, lets see how tough they are there walking down a road at night....you wont last long
anyone got recommendations for car alarms in chch?> think i might get my truck down, last time i used pauls car audio, they were pretty good i thought.
