Thanks, but I am actually not going to use that one now as the new turbo has a different rear on it.

The rear on the gt3063klv uses a 3 bolt rear on it.
It will make it so much easier to make a perfect dump

Here is a pic of the exhaust housing. As you can see I have used engineers dye to make the cover as I have to machine it a small amount

2.5 inch. Im going to run a 2.5 exhaust all the way through/ No muffler. 2.5 will have heaps of exhaust gas speed and I will be able to really soot people nicely. Thats quite important to me

What sorta power were you making with the laggy ca18 turbo? Much improvement over standard turbo? Guessing it had lots up top and bugga all down low?
Will be real interested to see how this variable vane turbs goes. Whatd it come off originally?

The turbo is off a 4.0 hino truck. The compressor map goes to 4.5 pressure ratios so could do 50 psi at 320 hp airflow. It will go to about 350-360 hp. this is on petrol so I am guessing on the upper 100,s I guess. I hope.
The turbo on it now is supposed to be high flowed with a bigger compressor but it has just made a lag monster out of it. Simon drove it and was shocked by the lag. So i don't think its a real comparison of it versus a stock turbo. It did pull slightly harder up top than the stock turbo but was lacking down low.

I love this qd32 intake manifold the engine has so much more torque. Ok its not breaking sideways every where but it so much happier to rev and pull through the range. Its starting to get hot now. I need to get one of those alloy radiators Simon Hook me up

i do like the idea of the qd32 intake, is it a simple bolt on joby?

thought about it as i will be putting an intercooler on mine anyway.

Fitting the qd32 intake is the easiest thing you can do. You need to block the egr off and of course there is the intake side to the manifold but that's it.

I picked up my manifold for $50.
I was looking at a qd32 engine for a bit but really not worth it now. Im just going to shove the bigger vgt turbo on this thing and happy days.

Here is the turbo versus a stock turbo. You get to see the size comparison its heaps bigger.

The compressor map tells me thing thing will go to 50psi but Im going to call it at 30psi I think

I was going to chop the flange of the manifold I had already made and weld this one on but it was better to just weld this one on as the other was already blended in.
So here it is. Nice 2.5 inch dump off the back and she is almost ready to rip

Is that some crazy-high-flow forward facing inlet manifold you got there too?

Its a modified qd32 intake. A friend of mine is doing this engine its a balanced qd32 that's getting twin compound turbos on it. He is hoping to run about 60 psi into it. its in a d22 so it heaps of room for a decent inter cooler.
Im just using it to dummy up my manifolds

OK here is the little turbo going on top a modified qd32 exhaust manifold. Its further on than that but I will need to take some more pics

I'd be interested to know what size turbos he's chosen, and how they go.
Your variable vane turbo idea does sound potentailly easier to flow match, will be real interesting to see how the two setups compare.
Wheres he mounting second turbo? I'm struggling to think where there'd be the room without low mounting the primary??

Yeah the other one is up the front and down low. I'm going there tomorrow to machine my manifold flat. I will try and take pics for you. I think if he had the choice he would go the vgt like I did. But he was doing the twin turbo before I got onto the vgt turbos cheap.
Have a look at this video of a qd32

Thats looking reeeaal sweet  8)

How does your twin stage controller work? Give a bit of pressure to vane controller on 1st stage, then bit more on 2nd stage? So have 3 positions on turbo vanes?

The twin turbo looks awesome in real life the pics are dont doing it justice. Its a really cool thing and hopefully we will have it in and on the dyno soon so we can see what it does.

The two stage boost controller uses the (tps) to tell it if to run high or low boost. The vgt turbo will try and keep at what boost I tell it at all time so if i have it set to 35psi which I plan on. Then at low throttle loading say on the high way at 100k its still going to try and make 35psi. This boost controller will drop it back to about 5-10 psi on low throttle loading. It will also have a button in there to allow me to go low boost with large throttle inputs. I will call it the anti hippy button.

Well been working on the suspension I am doing new bushes throughout on it to help it handle a bit better.

Im going to pick up a qd32 tomorrow. I got it for the right money Will post pics of that later. I reckon this truck is going to scream after this is in with the new turbo.

The list of stuff to do to my truck is
1: big turbo
2: qd32
3: 305/70/16 mud tyres.
4: 2 inch body lift
5: Paint job
6: Replace all the suspension bushes.

I had the option to go up to a d22 but I like the little nugget

I'm guessing it's a 'compound' turbo setup? One blowing through the other? Be interested to see how it goes...I've thought of doing that setup myself....
edit: Doh, should read a little more...I see a couple of pages back it is...
