simply the 5M engine, a manual gearbox bellhousing and a flywheel..the rest is minor...without those parts he might as well not even start,

Got the flywheel today...got so excited i forgot to take pictures..sorry..slotted out one hole, bolted the clutch/pressure plates in and got a mate to help me throw in the gearbox....just gotta finish that off tomorrow, then i gotta get on to the back deck and finish that so i can mount the radiator on the back and run the water pipes from the front to the rear..

more as it progresses..

Well it's been a while, had a mate swap the radiator pipes over, had the motor running, but she's not running too flash, got a big miss, so swapped out plugs/leads/cap..no difference, smoking now..so got my eye on another engine..still a 5M..so wont be too bad to swap the motors over..slapped the rear springs in the front and fronts to rear..now i gotta buy a ladder to get in...lol..i'm loving it..

more as it unfolds

YN being a petrol lux, sorry but you'd need to change your engine mounts from what i know, diesel's are in the exact place.

Well we have moved on to a 1/2 acre property now..lot's of room, but alas still no real garage to work on my pig, got the new motor hanging in a big pear tree and the pig in front of it waiting for good weather for me to get under and unbolt the old motor, got the full wiring loom out of the Celica when i got the new motor, so i'll throw that in too eventually, since im not at work till Peter Jackson starts back up in march there wont be too much progress till i find more c-ash..

Happy new year to you all, may it be a wet sticky one for us .!!!

Well it's been a while,
ACC have kindly put me in a civil works course to train as a heavy machine operator, so that's taking up most of my time BUT i got the new motor in and bolted up, fired her up yeaterday and it didn't sound too good, i swapped over the air flow meters and that improved it a lot, also found that the fuel pump i'm using should have a couple of relays and a resistor for the two speeds of the pump, hence i'm getting too much fuel at low rpm's...but it's a start...
more to come as i find the time.

PS: offroad wairarapa have just opened up a playground north of masterton (15 min's), $20.00 per vehicle for the day...might be worth a play..i heard it was sim to rallywoods..so should be good..

The 2JZ won't run properly without the Fuel ECU and dual speed fuel pump..

Matt, i still have the old motor, might have aquired another one too with manual gearbox...she's constantly wetting up the plugs and wont idle properly, i have used the complete wiring loom from the Celica now too, nothing cut at all, everything is plugged in properly, just the fuel pump not set up right i think.

Cheers
Brendon

PS: the person to contact regarding the new playground up here is Rod Trass you can get him on 0-27-441 4877, or get hold of me to arange a trip and i'll relay the detail's.

i had what sounds like the same problem. on top of the thermostat housing there are 2 sensors, bridge the wires on the right hand one. if that fix's it replace the sensor.
