let the fun begin

Post by northdude »

ok so ive gone and bought a 93 realy good condition lwb escudo doesnt look like its ever been off road so its a good one to start with first thing on the list is fit a set of extractors that will be easy enough then looking at a set of a/t tyres as it will be a daily driver as well 215 75 15 looks like a good size and use the standard rims now a few questions ive searced around the site and read bits and pieces im thinking about a 50mm suspesion lift its easy enough for me to fit but just after a little bit of advise with this height lift do you need longer brake hoses ive read about useing commodore shocks ive got some out of a vn is that what you use what do you do with the front struts put a spacer on the top of it and the last thing i can think of at the moment is with this height lift do you need to drop the front diff down id prefer not to have to do that as it seems to counter act the pourpes of lifting it up thanks in advance for any info Duncan

I've got a 50mm lift kit from a V6 for sale. It includes:

-Cobra springs 50mm lift.
-Commodore rear shocks with stainless crush tubes. +55mm down travel with 10mm spacer to make it +65mm down travel.
-Stainless hiem joint spacer with bolts.

$450 and it's yours.

How are you trying to do it? Easiest way is to upload them to an image hosting site like photobucket or imageshack, just follow the instructions on the site. :wink:

Just a small hijack of thread, I have clients on state highway 10 (between kerikeri round about and waipapa) who cant get broadband and have to use dialup. I also have around another 20 clients who cant get broadband and use either farmside or dialup

Dad can't get broadband at his place, which is only 2.3 K's off SH1.

Technology eh? :roll:

its quite funny when you tell some people you dont have broadband they are like omg how do you cope going through life with no broad band i just say easy go out side you no the real out side and go and do something its actuly amazing how many things you can do with out it tested out the tyres to day they are better than the van tyres nearly got stuck on some steep grassy stuff needed a bit of a run up may be lower pressures might help i was at 40psi for a start that was to hard went down to 30 that made a noticeable difference im pickn 20 would be better still but wanted to be careful as im tubeless need some longer snocks ive got some vn ones ill measure up also has any one local got a top balljoit spacer i could have a look at amd make a patten off cheers

20psi is still plenty of pressure for road tyres with no tubes. 15 would be ideal really

thanks ill give that a go going to try and make either a front bar or a heavy nudge bar for it that i could winch off if i get stuck also be good to try and mount the high lift jack on it ive seen them mounted on the spare but it looks like it might put a bit of stress on the back door

well took the suzuki to test its intended use finaly i took it into the ureweras to get into some hunting spots the tyres performed realy well providing all the traction i needed susspension handeled it as well it was a mixture of sandy clay rocks and river crossings a few steep up and down bits windy narrow parts that looked like its quite a tight squeeze for the wider 4x4s by the look of the scraping in the banks on the side of the track and the little suzuki went perfect id hate to have had to walk out from were it took us
