electric fan opinions
Well project prado is in the final phase, hook it all up and make it run.I now need an electric fan .have 500x500 area to play with but the water pump hub only gives me 60mm clearance to radiator. What brand/size do people normally use .The diesel radiator is mint so i am hoping it will be fine for the LS1.So many different ones on TM from 40 bucks up to 400 bucks .Dont mind spending reasonable coin but dont want to waste money .Biggest fan i can find is 16". opinions please

The Davies Craig fans are very good I hear.
I had a look and only the smaller fans are under 60mm deep. You could install multiple, thats what was done on a custom V8 install I've seen.

Whatever fans you use, make sure the shroud covers the entire radiator cooling area so the fan(s) are pushing or pulling through the whole radiator.

make sure you get that fan sorted, I dont want to have tow your ass everywhere in the LR due to overheating problems

I got two sets (one for spares) of twin fans and shrouds from here out of a Ford Mondeo. They have a high and low speed, but i just used high speed. Shroud measures 600x400. My radiator is 650x450, so just sat it real close to radiator core, not ideal, but they move lots of air
If you break it... build it stronger.
Re: electric fan opinions
falcon fans are the ducks nuts, got some from pickapart last time, 40 bux rings some bells somewhere from memory, as some one else said, make sure the ones you go for draw over the entire the face of the radiator,
pointless having round fans on the square face!!

Re: electric fan opinions
if your running mulitple fans make sure they switch together otherwise one will suck air in thru the other fan and not thru the radiator.

Put some soft packing between fan shroud and radiator, any little gap that lets air through greatly reduces efficency. Also worth checking that hot engine bay air can't be pulled through the radiator when stationary.
