WTB: Jeep TJ Offroad gear (Lift, bumpers, etc)
Re: WTB: Jeep TJ Offroad gear (Lift, bumpers, etc)
Welcome to the Forum. Are you expecting vendors to respond to your request? Normally you have to search for parts for the kind of modification you are after. Frankly, "a suspension" for a TJ can be somewhere from a few hundred to a few thousand, depends on what do you want to do with your TJ.
There are a lot of people on here who know Jeeps and drive / modify them. I am not trying to be negative, but your post is very vague to make any recommendation.

ah yes - I could've been more description re; lift.
I'm looking to put 33's on so will probably do something 3" (suspension) + 1-2" body.
Wasn't really thinking of vendors but more of a 2nd hand used lift if anyone had anything laying around.

Do it right first time and do it once!
Do heaps of research and make sure of everything before ya spend the dosh. There are heaps of things that can be done so ask around heaps, look at others TJ's then once you are sure what you want be prepared to spend big time!
Check out this forum www.wranglerforum.com it may be American but they sure know their Jeeps.
Remeber Jeeps aren't bought they are built.
Have fun
Cheers

Never regret anything you have done, only regret those things you have not done!
Re: WTB: Jeep TJ Offroad gear (Lift, bumpers, etc)
Hi werc1,
I have only had mine just on a year, but my shopping list isnt getting any shorter...
For a while, my list was always changing, with the more i read.
Coljag is right, the guys over at http://www.wranglerforum.com have done it all, from the cheap builds to exorbitant builds and everything in between.
I spend a lot of time on there, and pretty much all of the advice that comes back, is valuable.
It has got me out of a few stick situation, given time (they are 17hours behind us(if my math is correct))
Anyway, after a year, i have just installed a Rough Country lift.
I read positive & negative reviews in this kit, but in the end, it was what i wanted for the money i wanted to spend.
Having had it one the ground a few days now, it is just what i wanted...
All up, it cost me about $1500 including Freight & Customs tax.
Read & review, the info is out there...
Also, beware of the obvious LHD vs RHD.
Right hand stuff you can get from OZ. (Freight hurts tho)
Obligatory poser shot

Re: WTB: Jeep TJ Offroad gear (Lift, bumpers, etc)
Some good advice so far. Do it right, do it once. However, everybody has budget limitations so sometimes its not possible to go full bore from the start. I have had my TJ for 9 years now (yep, I still remember the day I got it - it was still under manufacturer warranty and Continental Cars have been brilliant all through the years).
I changed the tyres first, then suspension to OME kit. Worked for a few years very well till I bent my transfer case output shaft. Introduce SYE and rear double cardan shaft. Changed front and rear bars, added a winch. Weight adds up and springs started to sag. Changed over to heavier springs, all part of learning.
