Like button?

Maybe I have been facebookerized, but I think a button so that we can "like" posts in the forum would be really good.

1)If you are reading a discussion thread and you could see "liked" posts then that would be useful for gauging general forum opinion on the matter being discussed and if views put forward had support or were just some muppet venting etc.

2)There are many times when I am reading a build thread or similar and I want to give support or encouragement but I don't feel it's worth cluttering up a thread just to say "good work mate".

3)When one of the bright sparks leaves a witty message/reply that makes me laugh it would be good to show that I like their joke, again with out cluttering the thread.

Any one else think it's a good idea? or am I going to be told to bugger of and listen to Justin Bieber.

I see no need for a "dislike" button.

i'm on another forum which has that. not to bad, saves +1'ing posts. but it tends to get overused, some people 'like' every post.

i think it would be good to have, if also there was a option to sort posts in a thread by most popular posts/oldest to newist/newist to oldest/authors posts. think its a good idea and my 2c worth.

Facebook is Facebook and forums are for encouraging discussions.

I understand and agree with your points 2 and 3 but ya don't always have to comment.
