wtd late 70's quadrajet carb/carbs

Post by Heath »

Looking for a replacement carb for my engine as the one I have is damaged. I have removed all the gunge etc and now I find it is a bit of a frankenstein with different numbers and what looks to be an oldsmobile base. Not to mention the number stamped on the main body doesnt exist.

The casing around the top of the primary is broken and the choke plate seems to be damaged too as it wont sit flat. Although even if it did the huge gap in the back would make it a pain to tune the choke.

I have contacted the guy who sold me the engine (a good runner) and hope to hear back from him soon, but just incase I get told to jump I thought I'd better have a trawl and see what was out there (and an indication of price so he can refund me too would be nice

The auto pan is damaged too (split) but I'll replace that myself.

Heres the damaged part:

Awesome. What do you want for them?

PM me details if you like.

I have contacted the guy who sold me the engine but I might sort a replacement myself anyway as a spare that I can rebuild and then swap (then rebuild the old one).

Cheers,

Spoke to the supplier and he is going to ship another carb and a cable for the transmission too for free. Gotta love customer service when it is this good. He said to keep the old one for parts too. Was going to ship me a new transmission pan too but in light of his replacements I said not to worry about it (a bit of good will on my part I guess) as I was going to get a new one with a drain later on anyway (I'll just get it sooner - more chrome bling you wont see:rolleyes::D).

Will post his details when I find them (An invercargil based chap from memory). Got to support good traders when you can.

Might still grab a few to rebuild for shits and giggles. If I do a good enough job I might make some extra $$$ for my project (and learn something too).
