Rangie shocks - any suggestions?

Post by solihl »

Need to replace rear shocks on the old rangie, one bent and the other just worn out. Any one got any recommendations. $'s are a consideration, I need a real world solution rather than the balls out big $$ options. Standard length would be OK or maybe 1-2" longer. Any thoughts?

A very good cheap option is Rancho RS5000 shocks from Advanced Four Wheel Supplies in Mangere Auckland. $95 plus gst each.

Your part number is RS5157 for the rear

Old Man Emu nitro chargers
not the cheapest ($140) but I run them and wouldn't use anything else (my view only!)

Found some!

Thanks for everyones suggestions, i called around but ended up buying some from the Landrover dealer in the Mount. WAY cheaper than anywhere else i called. Picked them up yesterday and will fit them this morning. They quoted stock shocks at $98 each then could not supply and supplied some Gabriel Blue H/D shocks at same price. Will report back on how they perform later.

Shocks are great. Went to Whangamata yesterday and they transformed the hill road. Even with 1/2 tonne of wood inside & on roofracks, two big guy & tools they made a HUGE diference in ride & handling. Probably the best $200 i have spent on the rangie to date!
