Carb cleaner

Post by Heath »

Anyone know where I can get bulk carb cleaning solvent/whatever in Chch. need enough to be able to soak a whole carb in bits. Probably 4 litres or there abouts. Dont really want to use aerosol cans (bit messy and little control of spray drift) and would prefer to be able to soak stuff

Or is there an alternative, like a home made recipe?

Cheers,

Heath

Yeah but I dont want to put my hands near the water jet (the lance is too long anyway (1.5m). I'm also concerned that the jet might cut the carb in half too.

Seems that solvent thinners for paint is also a good option. They have the same basic makeup as the shop bought carb cleaner.

Hell at that rate you'll never get your Rat done.

Could be worse could be in the shed polishing your rod. Hot rod that is. No that still sounded sick.

i get the new chassis soon (l200) with everything bar engine and gearbox soon, for free so i will be able to start it soon.

which means the rest of the money i would have spent on it can go towards engine and gearbox

thinking nissan v8, they are cheap enough. and it would be different.
