5m that fell off the hill, Now in his home!

Post by Pajfan »

You may remember seeing the Supra that rolled off the Remark's?

Well, I finally spent some time and got it sorted. Conan had got it back to Q/town so I packed up the car, grabbed a trailer and went and got it. Left Chch at 2pm and straight to Q/town. Conan's mate seemed to think snow was on the way so loaded up and hit the road back to Chch. 4am and we got back, dumped the car at my bro's (Ta bro) and headed back to Beaver town. A couple weeks later and I got some time off so headed back down with the Lux on a trailer to do the swap (thanks to Supralux and his amazing shed!)
What fun to get the 5m out
Image
Thanks Ric for the panelbeating highlift!
One whole day to get the engine ready to come out!
one hour to have the 16r ready to come out of the Lux! Damm cars rolling down hills
With engine out we thought, Why not Power steering? Yeeha!!
Image
Ok done....
Now put engine in
Image
and re power the Supra for it's trip to sims (Sorry ric but the seats had to go!)

Steve had one of those ideas and told me to chop the back off my ute? Yeah ok, but only if you tack it back on? Yep one shortened deck later
Image
a whole lot of plumbing, a body lift so we can close the bonnet, put a whole lot of other stuff back on and she was ready to go back on the trailer and we headed home. :D
Chch - Kaikoura, sweet.
Just north of KK
Image
and a quick call to one of my customers down there and they sent me up a trolley jack to get me a new tyre on (Big thanks to Dicko and guys from Caltex Kaikoura, They Rock :P ). Woops i think i picked up a bit of metal from sims and a slow leak, Damm single axle trailer, oh well a slab of speights and a new trye still cheaper than a tandem hire for a week!

Home :) and I have to do some other stuff, Drive shaft off to the father inlaw so he can take some length out of it and I spent weekend tryin my hand at welding (badly  ) oh well, ugly as heak but seems strong and makes less noise now
Image

Now whats left on the to do list?
*Get drive shaft back and send the front one away for lengthening
*wire cooling fan up
*shift trans mount (will need to get someone with big welder for that)
*finish welding deck back on
*put sounds in
*Get dirty
*Get muddy
*Get slippery
*oh yeah, then take the truck out!

Nearly there Whew!

Also nice job on the report on engine swap, sounds like a lot of fun, bloody long way to go for the donor car though, must be a Toyota owners thing??

I have done the CHCH-Wanaka-CHCH trip in a day but that was driving the truck for work, bloody long way.

Yeah.........Um???????
I moved here in March, Got ute in well, March, as Wife didn't come up till July and still had the paj with her but on first outing to river with Supralux and the Mu found I had no power and we decided to put the 5m in so in the mean time have not done much.
I too would like to know where the Muck n Mayhem starts,
Any other Locals to give some hints?
I need it to be off the legal stuff as the lux is purley off road.
Missed from things to do...
*Put A frame on as the Vectra sags a big when it's got a car trailer on!
