Nissan Mistral TD 27....:-( too hot to handle

Me Papa checked the water before taking my little back to Auckland after she spent a week end with me and didn't put the cap back on properly.........(old timer.....) and............it made it 86km from my house near the airport in Hamilton to Te Kauwhata!!!!! Good old Nissan.

Well it got a bit hot to say the least and pulled the head for him and besides the standard fine cracks between the valves it's got a mean crack into a water jacket. So I'm looking for a good used head or where can one go to get a good deal for a pensioner to buy a head. He doesn't have much cash and I will help where I can but he is Ll bust up for not putting the cap on properly and now killing the head. My Mum is being very good and keeping quite about it all....haha.

It's their only ride to get into town to the shops and doc etc so want to get it running as cheap as possible for them. I could offer them my V8 Cruiser bush truck or motor cycle but that might attract too much attention for them.......

your not the first one to do this. get the engine block checked as well, a older friend of ours did the same thing to his, bought a new head only to have to buy a complete motor because the block was cracked as well

Yay, found a pressur tested and skimmed head for $280!!!!!! Lucky. Every one wanted to sell e a complete motor for $1100 plus.....they just not worth that sort of money. But the head was for sure.
