yeh im in I can get time off work round then with enough time notice. I was hoping that the trip might be a shiny/rough trip with a mix so both types of trucks can have fun? as my little zook is standard with only A/T'S on at the moment but all sounds cool 8) at this stage any ideas where in middle earth? maby nat park not sure were but keep me informed

at this stage any ideas where in middle earth?
could aim for middle earth?? Peoroa Forest !! (geographic centre of North Island) I can arrange very good accomadation there. Tracks range from insane to easy. Or a selection of different tracks and tuffness (if thats a word,) based in Rotorua area. Or National park area around Mt Ruapahu this will take a little more effort to arrange accom.
costs are up to yourselves bring your own every thing, family type of gathering ( Luv eatin hate cookin ) but these are only my ideas so keep them comin

To help keep track of things I can add this trip into the trips booking system if it will help you guys? Can collect deposits on accommodation if needed, limit vehicles etc makes the organisation a tad easier.

After you have decided where to go etc just PM or email me the details if I cant work them out from here and will put it up.

I imagine you will got a bit of interest from the amount of people up north.

hi yes please (if you havent already done so)
at this stage this looking like National Park for 1 or two days then Pueroa forest for 1 or two days. Sorry I havent been on top of this thread but my boss is an insane pric- who thinks that because he lives to work I should too and we (not him )have been working 12 to 16 hour days every F...ing day.
If you are joing this trip, or any other, please remember safety equipment and recovery gear I m not sure but I think there is a good reference to whats required in the south Island trip.

cool !! a trip leader ???? thanks Steve. If you take care of Nat Park on the day, I can take care of Puoroa. cheers

Hi All
It looks like the local council are closing Fisher rd to all 4wds it appears the trampers are a bit upset at having to dodge 4wds while out walking
It might be a good idea if those interestd in this trip to list a brief discription of their exp and type of 4wd ,This will help in picking what type of tracks are done
Cheers

if you walk down the middle of the road its a fair bet you will be run over, do you see many tree hugging, musilie bar eating greenies walking on the motor way?. no! but I wish I did. It would give them a chance to see if their organic grown rope sandals can out run a rampant ozone depleting petrol spewing unsafe, in an accident, 4wd owner charging down on them
but I guess everyone has a right to something.......????Tofu tastes like shit
Ill bit my tongue and ring someone to find out for sure. Does anyone know who what where??( local council ??? )

possible north island trip

Post by DJ »

HI
It doesnt look like this trip is going ahead as there is not enough interest shown. May be its because I didnt give a blow by blow description but I thought ( wrongly ) that a trip organisers job is, every thing is left to him to organise with out bothering the others with details. Or maybe its to close to the silly spending season and peoples are still recovering. I'm sure that theres a hundred ,all valied reasons, but may be some other time in the future someone else may wish to take on this small task and if they do they can count on me for sure.
Ill retreat back to my corner to stirr up range rover owners or anyone that I deside needs it, except trip organisers.
In the mean time Im taking my Trans Am to the Kumeu Hot Rod festivale this weekend.
cheers
:( as much as I hate to admit it south islanders rule OK    :lol:and you guys enjoy your trip

I could be persuaded to spend two days in Pueroa Forest if anyones made arrangements but not registed an interest as the camp there has been arranged at no or little cost ($7.50 per head children free) but I have to know by Thursday nite 9pm latest
cheers again
