started my budget build

Post by spanky »

fitted some coil spacers today, made some out the plastic stuff we put on wear surfaces at work, about 14mm thick , i made 8 which will give me 55-56mm of lift with 4 on each side.have only fitted 2 each side at this stage to bring it up level, removed the ugly bar that was on and trimmed the spoiler bit off, next will be to cut the guards to clear bigger wheels.

Nice work. You could easily take the intake out through the fender and make a snorkle. Its nearly there already.

done a little bit more on the jeep, cut down a old rack i had for the roof, still got to make better lower mounts that dont stick out and get caught on stuff, had to put some hillbilly lights on,they are old cibie oscars that take a halogen bulb and have hi and lo beam.i have decided to cut the tailgate into two and have just the top opening and the bottom half fixed, will start on it this week once i have made some room in my shed for the jeep, will cut it on the black line .

thought about relocating the latch that holds the door shut normally? being glass will be easy to modify.

if ya can make a bracket for it i think it would work.

Looking interesting . You can make the bottom part drop down like a CJ tailgate. Then its somewhere to sit with a shade.

been making the front a bit stronger to mount a winch and good tow hook, bent the tow eye and bumper at ngaroma last time there getting towed out.boxed the front chassis with 65x65 box, some angle stuff and 38mm roll cage tube, braced back with75x5mm flat for 400mm along the chassis rail.put in a bigger trans cooler and a scoop with a fan to vent the engine bay.
