Hi All
What's everyone using these days on their winch solenoid terminals to prevent corrosion?
Was thinking of just painting on some non-conductive, high temp grease.

I use silicone based grease...(only cause that's what I had on hand)
Works a treat.

Cheers.
Ahhh yes, good old vaseline. Everyone should have a pot
Thought it used to wear off fairly quickly.
I have the old metal looking solenoids, might spray the entire thing with Tectyl as well.

Re: Solenoid protection from weather
I remounted my solinoids in a click clack plastic box inside the engine bay. All cables entered via the bottom. I didnt seal the cables but as the water couldnt enter due to compression of air. Three years of hard trips and they were as dry as when they first went in

I use this on boat battery terminals when fitted new. Works a treat. After years of the salt environment, they undo like the first day they were installed. Do so many, use about 4 cans a year.
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Will definately have to look into this CRC product. Must say, I've never noticed it before.
Like the click-clack box idea as well. Wonder if the kids will miss their lunchbox

Re: Solenoid protection from weather
before you get too carried away the solanoid packs are sealed and designed to be outside the vehicle in the weather, all you need to watch is corrosion on the terminals for the cables so you maintain good clean connections and no coroded high resistance joints, a bit of grease or that fancy crc shit
and a bit of regular maintenence takes care of that
personaly I've never been much of a fan of those sealed click clack boxes for electrical shit coz they only end up condensating and make all the shit wet that your trying to keep dry if there not properly vented
