NZ 4WD Book

Post by fullthrottle »

Hi All

I think I've seen it before but can't remember the name.
There is a NZ 4WD book that was published with trips, adventures, stories about travelling around NZ?

Anyone remember the name of it?

Cheers

There were the North and South Island books which gave details of various tracks, published in the late 90's and early 2000. From memory each had a follow up revised issue as well.

This was followed up a couple of years ago with Off Roading New Zealand from the SpotX range of publications.

The promo for that books is;
Offroading New Zealand
New Zealand has so much to offer; with 4WD tracks that are not only an adventure in themselves, but also give access to great walks, fishing and hunting spots, camping, sightseeing and stunning views.

Whether you have a shiny on-road 4WD or a fully kitted-out offroad machine with tyres, snorkel, winch and recovery gear, there are tracks in here for you to explore.

This collection of trails was compiled with valuable assistance from a number of Xperts. Bobbie Kincaid is the past editor of 4x4 Action Magazine, Working with the valuable assistance of Andy Cockroft, who has published three editions of 4WD Northland compiled the North Island tracks. Bill Hohepa, the presenter and producer of the long running TV series 'Drury Tires 4x4 Treks' picked out 85 of more memorable South Island tracks he has driven.

Each of the tracks from Northcape to Bluff feature the following:
Topographic maps with access and trails marked.
Description of trail, conditions and experience required.
Features, activities, history and sightseeing along the way.
Easy to read symbols help you pick the trail most suited to your vehicle and experience.
