80 series fog lights fail WOF

Post by tgaguy1 »

Hi all,

I took my 80 series for a WOF in the weekend.
It failed on the factory fog lights being different colours. I have never heard of such a silly reason to fail a WOF

My questions are...

Is this a fail item? Both the fog lights work. Is there a colour stipulated in the wof manual? I went to the industrial coatings supplier this morning to see if there is a paint that I can re-coat the reflector of the light without the yellow tint to it, but they knew of no such product. My other options are open up the yellow tinted light and try to remove the yellow coating. Has any one achieved this successfully before? or replace the light assembly, which I am reluctant to do.
Your thoughts, suggestions and ideas are greatly welcomed.

Cheers

Jase.

You have to remove the whole light unit to get to the yellow shroud that covers the fog lamp bulb. half hour job.

Or...... pull the fog lamp bulb out, shove a screwdriver in the lamp hole and smash the yellow glass shroud.
It looks like the yellow glass shroud has brocken off and is in the bottom of your light on the other one anyway.

Thanks for the replies.
I pulled the head lights apart today and removed the glass yellow cover. As said, only takes 30 mins. Will get WOF tomorrow.
