wanted: ln130 drivers cv

Post by scott-tauranga »

Hi there I'm after a inner and an outer cv for a ln130 surf. Drivers side. Not wanting to buy new as it's only going to happen again, preferably in the bay but anywhere as long as you're willing to send.
Cheers

Buy "Genuine Toyota" ones mate, I used to be the same forever changing them. The toyota ones are alot better than the cheap "Repco" type ones. Also I found it was the bouncing that killed mine so I didnt let it get to that stage.

Problem stopped right about the same time the SAS happened, funny that.

Cheers

don't watse your money on new ones!
surf CVs are a dime a dozen . drivers / passengers side are the same .
If you get the front suspension in the right place you don't need to pull the diff or remove the spindle to fit them .

As soon as the front gets off the ground you hve to get off the gas or the CV or diff will let go when the spinning wheel hits the ground .

Interesting that you broke the drivers side . all the ones I blew we're the the passenger side . when you hve it out have a good look at the stub axle on the diff and ensure the bearing hasn't let go .

Yeah that’s the best/worst bit about forums, just depends how passionately people like to push there point :)

Just had another thought......how lifted is your Surf? Its not the angle at full droop causing them to bust is it?

They are a dime a dozen and I wouldnt waste your money buying new either. The guys that do the SAS usually just hiff them away.

Just has wound up torsions and springs in the back. Is there anyway I can change the angle so is closer to factory angle? Spacers maybe?

Yeah depending on how far it's lifted you can put spacers on the front diff to lower it closer to factory in relation to the hubs.

Although this doesnt help if there breaking on the shaft and not the CV its self.
