gear box question

i have a 5spd bighorn and at idol running there is a chattering noise from the gear box, but goes once fot is on the clutch, i have herd this lots on a variety of diesel gearboxes but dont know what it is, is it serious??? its quiet when driving, just noisy at idol, thanks

could possibly be your relese bearing on the way out have had this noise for the last 12 months in our l200 not a big worry till it starts making some real noise then it will have to be gearbox out to replace.

It will be the input shaft bearings.....Had the same problem on my car a few years back...
Push clutch in ... all quiet...
Clutch out and noisy...
