We know he made regular visits up to the top of the South Island to save you guys driving all the way down here. So I'd be surprized if you fellas had delt with Wayne here in Chch. I've delt with both and prefer Wayne ANYDAY. The sooner he gets back in business the better. I'd rather go down south than deal with anyone else in Christchurch. But hey, that's just my opinion..
What a load a crap having to get all the info for your last cert in Christchurch Tom. What a disgrace.

I've heard that Wayne has won the first battle and will be getting his accreditation etc returned to him.
The second round is in Feb. I hope he gets everything he can!

Nice work on Pete's truck Tom, like always!
Can't wait to see what he gets you to make for the front.

The whole Wayne thing has been a bit gutting. I've put over 35 vehicles through him over the last 7 years. Had a really good working relationship with him which took time to establish  Anyway onward and upwards.
Word is he should have resolution by March. Fingers crossed.

Yip knocking off for a couple of weeks just as soon as I finish one last little job

I know that Julian Cheer from the Wairarapa does a few days in Nelson certifying. Not sure how frequent but may be of help to someone though.

are you able to make up one of those fancy rear bars for a 70 playdoh

ideally with some rear light protectors (hoop) or something and the bar sticking out a bit rearwards protect the rear end

Been chipping away at a 3 link rear on a 130 this week (in between other things)

Heres some detail so far.............

Lower arm chassis mounts

Image

Prepped and ready to tig the upper control arm (lowers are the same but longer)

Image

Welded with bush pressed back in

Image

Same link arm with the upper diff mount ready to weld in

Image

Should have it finished tomorrow night. Pics then :D

Also thanks to everyone who got in touch and helped me with my "quiet time". Legends, the lot of you :D

is there a specific reason you get the eyes tigged on? Or is it just personal preference?

Seeing as its not a part I'd like to see break, I prefer the tig because you can see exactly what the weld puddle is doing and control it accordingly.
And its puuurdy

The 3 link works well in Hiluxs/Surfs because of the fuel tank location. But to be honest......... the customer has the gold so I'll do as I'm told
