Attempted theft Elsdon, Porirua

During the torrential wind and rain last night 2 people have attempted to steal my hilux. I live down a back section that backs onto a park, Vehicle is parked behind a false fence. They have boltcut the padlock on the gate. They have ripped the lock out of the door and also cut the steering wheel in half to get the steering lock off aswell as knock out the ignition. I was halfway through servicing it so there were no spark plugs in it, no oil, battery disconnected. My neighbour has a camera that looks over my driveway and saw 2 people with pretty decent size bags walk down the drive just after 0200 this morning. They did not go back up the drive but noticed they have cut the padlock on the gate leading into the park. Notified the police and gave them the video recording but they said they cant do much at this stage and to let them know if anything else happens. Just more of a heads up as they seemed to know what they were doing, apart from looking under the hood to see its in no driveable state!

They must have followed me home as there is no way you can see the car or house from the road, you would have to come nearly all the way down the drive to see the vehicle.

wankers !! hope they rot! have had attempts at my old suzuki wile living in the hutt hope you get ur lux all sorted and possably invest in a alarm ..... or shot gun
