you could get a cheap lwb safari, or a terrano/mistral.
if your after the comforts then go a bighorn, 7 seats, all the luxury aircon etc.
or if your after something lighter, try a lwb suzuki vitara.

First thing that will influence your choice is how many seats do you need?

Re: Hi guys 4wd WTB $6000 budget
i wouldnt bother with a navara unless you specificly want a ute.
far to pricey for what they are.
i have a terrano that im not gunna sell anytime soon, good amount of power, cheap to run, and big enough to sleep in, while being small enough to get around tracks etc.
better yet, for 6k youl get a bloody tidy terrano, unless your going for a later model one.
Mistrals are quite good too, good engine, and not bad to drive at all.
best thing about terranos though, if anything happens a new engines only $600 bucks.

Suzukis are cheap to run, cheap to buy parts for and easy to work on because every thing is so light in them, plenty of them for sale on Trademe too. LWB Escudo/Vitara would be the one to suit you, the 1600cc motors are pretty reliable, can have head cracking issues but extractors will fix that. The 2000cc V6 ones have timing chain isssues and can be expensive to repair.
