we were already loaded on this trip 3 months ago (and one guy had to walk, although a few others choose too as well  )

This area cannot be taken lightly and you can't have too many rigs in there (i reckon that 5 at a time is the absolute maximum). It took us 7 hrs to go about 5kms, that does include a 1 3/4 hrs for a breakdown repair though.

Your 35" tyres look really small in this terrain.

On and on a footnote, the two hiluxs (both of which have been ruined because they have V8's, and Tim's one doubly bad because it is shortened) were the only trucks that did not see a strap or winch rope or even a spanner. (well not in a big way anyway  )

Just at the end of that vid.. Was Nib going to get his feet wet and spot the line? or just that the sheep manure in his gumboots was awkward.

Playing on wet rocks (which is what NZ has to contend with) Swampers win hands down. The MTR's are also pretty good. Simex's beat the swampers in the mud, but are crap on the rocks. There are other good stickies available, but I haven't seen them perform here yet, will get a look when CCS gets his machine sorted.

39.5 x 15.5 x 16.5.
I don't see the use in external bead locks as we can pop an internal bead just as easy as an external one. Internal bead locks are the go, but I run on 8" wide rims and that seems to hold them on alright.
Don't know pressure I had them at. Normally run 5-15psi but I think they were more like 20psi this time. It was this trucks first decent run and I overlooked heaps of things that I would normally check out because I was keen to get into it
