Depends on what you want in a vehicle. Asking here people will tell you their preferences but its your money and you have to get what you are comfortable with.

Is it for off road, a play toy or is it to be the family car as well?
Petrol, diesel its your choice.
4 door or 2 door, long wheel base or short.

Options could be anything from the Suzuki to a Nissan. There are other Toyota's, Jeeps. Land Rovers and many more besides. Unfortunately with that small budget Hummers are off the list.

You won't find a truck as mint as these for the price. 12h-t's go even better.

Best bet is to go and drive some different ones and see what you like.
We used to have a 3.1TD bighorn LWB and loved that and now we have a 4.2td LWB Safari and like that too.
For your money there is heaps out there.
If its for family traveling as well try and go with coils the ride as far as family is concerned is much nicer, just my 2cents

Suzukis are very cheap to run, very low servicing costs too as they only need half as much oil as the bigger trucks eg Nissan Patrol takes 10 litres of oil for the engine, Suzukis only need 4 litres. Also cheap to modify and buy parts for.

Mine would be good, but using it as a daily driver would be pretty shit to be honest, in these little trucks leafs arent that great. Coilovers on the other hand make it so plush

my terrano uses 5L, parts are everywhere for them, dont know many people that have had major issues with them that arnt related to maintenance, and only uses 11L of diesel per 100k.

better yet, ya can tow with them.

for 5500 you could get a tidy terrano, and get the relevant steering mods done, finish up having a really nice truck to drive, and strong for offroading too.

what silbainmud does a suzuki would go through twice as many front diffs.

Theres a reason he drives a terrano.

Depends what model, escudo probably but not SJ's, they are pretty strong for their size.

So considering the advice the person is after is what truck would be good as a daily diver with some offroading during weekend, you would then agree that a terrano would be a good choice?

88 Model with a bloody top TD42 Diesel engine. 4wd High and low and 2wd

Motor has done 355km and doesnt smoke or spit any shit out! She has been extremely well looked after. Reconded auto has been fitted, Oil cooler. Truck goes very well with plenty of power.

Body is rust free! Not many like this anymore
Newish exhaust, Serviced, New handbrake, Brake lines and pads, Axle seals done, Very good tyres, Diff lock,

Looking at 5.7k ono as is or 6.3k with Wof, Reg, RUC, & Back seat. Good work horse.....

Tow bar on tm is $80 and it doesnt have a back seat at moment but am sourcing one if needed.
