Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust Fundraiser -

Post by kaney »

its a good cause so lets make an effort  -

this event is coming up on the 19th of November. the meeting point is at dunback domain at 9.30am at the latest. and heads either north (harder tracks) from the domain and south for the real shiny trucks (gravel and drit tracks). trucks must be road legal and have some form a tow point. For those people that want to make a weekend of it there is the oportunity to camp at the dunback domian on either side of the event at the cost of $1 per person per night. lunches on the day are available for a small fee (bbq and spit roast). the small cost is $75 per truck and the limit per truck is the number of seatbelts. I went with brian and a few of the other or4g (otago recreational 4wd group) members around the track yesterday and you get to see some amazing veiws and alot of country that you wouldnt normally get to see. there is a limit of 200 trucks so get in quick!!! if anyone wants some information pm me and i will give you brians number.

tickets can be got by ringing brian lowery.

I would recommend it... went a few years ago, but missed the last one... if you can ... the last one I went on was mostly private property which you don't normally have access to...

Nope - it's about 50 mins out of Dunedin. Head north from Dunners on SH1 until you get to Palmerston. Turn left at Palmerston onto the old Pig Route (goes to Ranfurly/Alex) - it's about 20 mins along this road from Palmy (just before the turn off to Macraes).
