Can someone help with checking an engine in Napier?

Post by fweddy »

I've located a potential engine for my surf (see Cooked Surf option thread)

The guy has recond it, installed it and now parting the truck out. Sounds like his dad has worked on it and he's had the machining done elsewhere.

It's still in the truck and can be seen running.

Considering it doesnt seem to be done by a pro company, I'm keen to have it looked over for workmanship and what it's running like.

If any one can help let me know.

Also keen on options to get it down to welly then canty if any one can help out.
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.
